I love, love to read (books, e-books, fanfics, manga). Besides books, I love my Kindle, HEA stories, Harry Potter, anything related to Japan and Disney.

Priapus

Priapus - Mentaiko Itto Fun and silly (Priapus is a gorgeous man sent to Earth by Zeus, whose mission is to turn all men gay) and extremely explicit and hot (Priapus seduces a different man in every chapter). The last chapter, the one with the competition (where 2 men compete in a ring in front of hundreds of people to see who cums first) was the only "romantic" one.

Akin to Anne: Tales of Other Orphans

Akin to Anne: Tales of Other Orphans - L.M. Montgomery, Rea Wilmshurst 3.5

Beautiful short stories written by the exceptional good author L. M. Montgomery. The places she describes are beautiful and yet so familiar. All her characters, except for one, are kindred spirits. They are all nice, lonely fellows with honest, big hearts, who go thru hard times in their lives until they find happiness. Just like our dear Anne had. On the negative side, all these stories follow the same pattern: poor orphan who makes some mischief, until he/she has feelings of remorse, comes clean; some lady/gentleman sees her/him and goes "oh, she/he looks so much like XXXX... my dear, what was the maiden name of your mother?", our MC's reply and then "then you are my cousin/niece/daughter-son of my dear friend" etc., so our lovely character finds her/his HEA, with a family to love and cherish.

Only one story left me "huh??", which is The Softening of Miss Cynthia. I thought my copy was incomplete (since I bought an used book) but no, no pages were missing, so I assume that this story is incomplete. Other than that, I recommend this to anyone who is fan of LMM and who don't mind "recycled" patterns.

Erotic Fairy Tales: The Little Mermaid

Erotic Fairy Tales: The Little Mermaid - Yumi Takano Lame.

KOIMONOGATARI

KOIMONOGATARI - Tohru Tagura Nice story about a closeted teenager who finds a friend in his classmate. It isn't really a yaoi manga, maybe shounen-ai? Since there is no romance between the two main characters. Hazegawa listens to Yoshinaga and is a good friend after finding out Yoshinaga is gay. Only other person knows his secret, who is a girl friend. The story is basically Yoshinaga pining over Hazegawa's friend, being scared of being out, meeting another gay boy, etc. Quite realistic, without an ounce of romance.

月刊少女野崎くん 7 [Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 7]

月刊少女野崎くん 7 [Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 7] - Izumi Tsubaki This manga is so funny! And I love the characters so much... when was the last time I enjoyed a manga this much? I am rooting for all characters. Kashima and Hori-sempai need to start dating! And Seo and Waka too! They are the cutest couples <3<br/>
It is my last volume for some time :(( there is one more translated but I have to save it, as it is my nasty habit... My favorite chapters, which are most of them:

- Hori realizing two characters of the manga (Oze and Waka) are based on Seo and Waka. :)
- Miyako-san having a free night but since her friends think she is a host, they tried by any means she doesn't drink.
- Sakura and Mikorin trying to lose weight.
- Sakura and Kashima playing Kokkuri... and Hori and Nozuki joining.
- Waka telling Seo that he likes her, but for ulterior motives.
- Kashima's story about her bullying.
- Kashima and her legs <3

Superhero

Superhero - Eli Easton I started to skim thru once Owen starts to cheat on Emily. I DESPISE cheating. Then I had to quit it altogether once Jordy, who thinks that his love will be forever unrequited, goes to a gay club and hooks up with some random guy. I HATE when this kind of things happen, specially since both of the MC characters are insanely in love with each other. In the end, I almost hate both of them for being so stupid. DNF for me.

Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves

Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves - P.G. Wodehouse This one is the sequel of [b:The Code of the Woosters|9858081|The Code of the Woosters (Jeeves, #7)|P.G. Wodehouse|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1302053718s/9858081.jpg|1121253] since it happens shortly after the engagement of Madeline and Gussie, and the adventure with the cow-creamer at Totleigh Towers. Poor dear Bertie! He tries to make things right between Madeline and Gussie since he doesn't want to marry Madeline; he is also forced to help Stiffy and Stinker. I was surprised at the twist of Gussie eloping with the cook. I was like, WHAT!, but more than anything, with Jeeves leaving the service of Bertie and entering Bassett's. According to him, it will be only temporary, but I see that it is going to take a whole book. I wonder what book follows this one...

Bertie and his Alpine hat image

A Ghost of a Chance

A Ghost of a Chance - Josh Lanyon My first Josh Lanyon book, and not a good start. Everything developed too rushed for my taste: the msytery with the ghost, the solution to the problem, the discovery of the body, the romance between Rhys and Sam, finding our who the real culprit was... And I was annoyed at how quickly Thad forgave stupid Oliver and his cheating.

Some people will say that, hey, it is a novella, of course everything has to be settled quickly, but I've read novellas where I was satisfied and some of them were less than 100 pages, shorter than this one. MEH. I didn't really like any of the characters.

A Lesson In Truth

A Lesson In Truth - Sloan Parker This is basically a PWP, but it is also romantic, since student David has been in love with his professor and tutor Michael for a year, till he is called to his office to be told that Michael wants to quit being his tutor. David is inconsolable since he thinks that Michael, after that one kiss, wants to forget about them because he is his student. But everything is the opposite. It was very sweet!

The Princess and the Goblin Book and Charm

The Princess and the Goblin Book and Charm - George MacDonald Well that was a disappointment. The title should have been instead, "The Princess and her Grandmother", or "The Princess and the Miner Boy", since there really isn't much (or not at all) interaction between the Princess and the Goblin (what Goblin? I wonder... there were 3 main goblins, and none of them had a major role). Nope, not my cup of tea.

Gambling Men: The Novel

Gambling Men: The Novel - Amy Lane 3.5

I am not really a fan of Amy Lane (not that I hate her). I've read some samples of other books and I wasn't hooked, like ever. I don't like her writing, tbh. Which is one of the negative things of this book. It is like we don't match. The conversations between Jace and Quent were nice and romantic, the sex scenes were hot, and the dirty talk was just like I like it, but still, it wasn't too hot for my taste.

Still, after having such a bad luck in my late mm romances, this was like a breath of fresh air. Why? Because it was as romantic as I want my MM to be (meaning, no other hook-ups/one-night-stand... only the romance between two guys). The story starts a bit "eh?" since Jace and Quent are best friends and partners in business, and one day they have a thing in a locker room. While playing poker with friends, Quent (who is straight) cannot stop thinking about it, so they are basically exchanging hot stares during the game. Then it follows them going "like rabbits on Viagra" (words from the author, not mine).

Thankfully, since they are best of best friends, they start their love life without preambles. Sure, Jace is possessive and jealous for little things, but they were ok. They give them all without doubts, without second thoughts. I loved that. They are not insecure about what the other one is feeling, what the other one is thinking. Their relationship is a serious one, and pretty much from the start they both know that "this is it".

That does not mean they don't have their ups and downs. They have some silly fights (like when Quentin is down because their parents disown him after finding out their son was gay) and Jace is a bit too emotional (supposedly, he is a shark without emotions... ehhh, he was the one who was more vulnerable in the entire book). Still, I think that everything that happens is the after, what we don't get in MM romances after the HEA... it is about them committing to their love, moving out together, having trips together, spending the holidays together along with their friends...

I also liked that it wasn't entirely about them being alone (like Jace wanted); they had their friends who supported them... their poker friends as well as their workmate friends. And talking about poker, that was another of the negative things about this... Everything was related to poker (life, love) to the point of rolling my eyes. I admit that I know nothing about poker, so it was kind of a snooze all the talking about it.

Although it could have been corny, I didn't think it was at all, in spite of all the "I need you" and ILY. They had their friendship as a base to prevent the cheesiness, I think.

Is this a g4u? Maybe, since Quent has been straight all his life except when it came to Jace. Still, I would have loved if he had more inner struggles to accept his new sexuality (which, to me, is the fun of g4u), but since it was Jace, his best friend, it wasn't a struggle for him at all, which, at the end, was also nice. Overall, I think this book was super romantic <3

Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined

Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined - Stephenie Meyer It was OK, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who didn't like Twilight, because this book is exactly the same in at least 75% of it. Even the dialogues, if I am not wrong. So it is basically re-reading the whole thing again with minor changes. I liked Twilight (Vol. #1) in my time. But reading this today (which is basically, re-reading Twilight), made me see that it was not as awesome as I used to think :(

I wished the author would have re-written it but with Beau and Edward as the MC. Yes, that is right, a male/male romance. It would have been a lot more exciting and more challenging. Instead, it was a Beau/Edythe story, but really, even if I didn't want to, it was like reading a Bella/Edythe love story. Why? Because Beau was a wimp. I liked Bella (in book #1 ONLY), and when she tripped, it was fine; when she blushed, it was fine. But to read Beau do it... I did not mind when Bella had tears in her eyes thinking she would be separated from Edward... but the other way around? A teenager boy crying because he wouldn't see his love for 24hours or whatever? What a wimp. Or when he was hysteric when the hunter was after them.

Only in this book I realized that the author liked to repeat the same thing over and over again: like Beau had blotches of red on his neck or cheeks (or he blushed); or that he was pale and tall, or that it was constantly raining, or that Edythe was so beautiful it hurt... I am not exaggerating, this was told over and over again, to the point where I was "OK, I GET IT!".

I think the author could have done better with the names; I get that she tried to make them the more similar to the original names, but they were so lame: Edythe, Royal, Carine, Earnest (seriously? Earnest? why not Ernest?).

So yeah, I felt this time that the story is very emo. Edythe constantly blaming herself, reacting hot and cold, she and Beau apologizing over and over again... Still, I like [b:Twilight|41865|Twilight (Twilight, #1)|Stephenie Meyer|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1361039443s/41865.jpg|3212258]. I don't care that people degrade the book, with the whole feminist thing, blah, blah. I enjoyed it in my time (when I was younger), and today I see the book with fond. I still think that the love story is sweet and clean, specially since it is a first love for both of them. May be a bit insta-love, but they talk and they do get to know each other.

I like the change in the final 2 chapters, which are not the same as Twilight. I wish the author made this end in her original work, instead of ruining the story with the sequels.

Overall, I like the original version much more, which is Edward/Bella. My second option would be Edward/Beau image

月刊少女野崎くん 5 [Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 5]

月刊少女野崎くん 5 [Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 5] - Izumi Tsubaki The typical summer vacation, only in this case is the drama club retreat, but even so, all our guys go too (Nozaki, Sakura, Wakamatsu, Seo, Mikoshiba). Wakamatsu is a little concern about Seo-sempai's "boyfriend" image.

We also know where Nozaki-kun took inspiration from to create Mamiko...

This may be the first time in a looooong time where I am rooting for all the possible couples image

月刊少女野崎くん 4 [Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 4]

月刊少女野崎くん 4 [Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 4] - Izumi Tsubaki Enters Mayu, Nozaki's little brother.

Favorite chapters: everything that has Kashima and Hori on it (like the festival) and Wakamatsu and Seo (like the festival); Ken-san and Nozaki's first meeting... But the best of the best, the pajama party, with all the boys (Nozaki, Wakamatsu, Mikoshiba, Hori). I was laughing the whole chapter.

I want more yonkoma (4-koma - 4 panels) manga. Seems like this kind of manga is the funniest.
