I love, love to read (books, e-books, fanfics, manga). Besides books, I love my Kindle, HEA stories, Harry Potter, anything related to Japan and Disney.

Only One

Only One - Yuu Moegi It would have been a 1 star rating if it weren't for the nice art and the beginning of the first story, where it seemed like it was going to be a cute, more angsty, romance. Turns out, total MEH. What happened with the ex-wife and the kid? That was a lame excuse to make the 2 guys starting to live together. The other stories were totally lame.

ワンパンマン 4

ワンパンマン 4 - ONE, Yusuke Murata Saitama is growing on me, he is such a laid-back MC. He makes some funny expressions (or no expressions at all... it depends on how you see it).

I am impressed with the art, and the sequences of the battles. I mean, there is a whole chapter where is one attack only, but showing us panel after panel. It is like watching the whole thing.

But wow, I am more impressed at the gay villain in prison raping the guys O_O

Stay Gold - Koi no Lesson A to Z

Stay Gold - Koi no Lesson A to Z - Miu Ootsuki, 大槻 ミゥ Creepy art. Terrible plot. A chick-with-a-dick uke (who spends 95% of the story with tears in his eyes). A gross seme (who is supposed to look cute but he creeped me out). Other stories were as gross as the first and main one.

ワンパンマン 2

ワンパンマン 2 - ONE, Yusuke Murata Like I thought, the story is getting better. And maybe it is because of that, but now I think that the art is amazing, specially in the action scenes. Most of the times, the battles scenes are a bit confusing, reason why I end up watching the anime instead of reading the manga. But in this manga, it is more or less like watching the anime. For example, when Saitama is looking at the ninja, who is attacking him, we get every angle of Saitama looking at the ninja. It takes like, 5 pages or so. Or when Genos is fighting against Saitama. It is very cool.
SPOILER ALERT!

Ten Count

Ten Count - Rihito Takarai Total chapters read: 31
Overall: 2 stars

I loved that this story is slow-paced, and I found the plot very unique, with Shirotani having mysophobia. I liked that their names mean something, with Shirotani being more innocent ("white") and Kurose more dark ("black"). Sometimes I thought the art was ugly, but other times that it was rather nice.

On the other hand, it started very realistic and then goes downhill. I think that Kurose "seduced" Shirotani a little too soon (although it was in vol. 2 I think), but with his condition, I am not sure if Shirotani accepted all too well, and more so since the seduction was actually an attack. I think there should have been more inner conflicts, but again, this is a yaoi, so we really shouldn't expect too much.

What I really disliked, and I think that it was f**-up as hell was Shirotani's past. It was disturbing to read how he coped when he was in the closet watching his father having sex with his student, and how that student dealt with the whole relationship between Shirotani and his father. I was shocked to read that he also had the Edipo syndrome but with his father instead of his mother (who was dead). And the reason why he had mysophobia.

Then, another shock... Kurose's own story. How old was he when he "attacked" his adult neighbor? i get that this is a dark story, but since it begins so nice and real, and then it turns into something so dark and f***-up, it surprised me but in a bad way. Specially since I don't like reading f**-up mm romances, like this one. In the end, I disliked Kurose as well. I did not feel like he really loved Shirotani... he was more f**ed-up than Shirotani. What he did when he was a boy, what he did to Shirotani (specially since he "loved" him, and knowing his condition)... all that was very disturbing and in spite of keeping me hooked, was a total "it creeped me out".

ワンパンマン 1

ワンパンマン 1 - ONE, Yusuke Murata Good story, entertaining. Reminded me of tokusatsu, with the costumes and defeating the villains so quickly. I like both characters, Saitama and Genos, and although I am not a fan yet, it has the potential to be even better.

i fell in love for the first time

i fell in love for the first time - ASAGI Ryuu Terrible. No plot, no chemistry between the characters. And what is worst, one of the girls looks like she is in her late 20's, big-breasted, while the other girl looks like 12. Super creepy.

The Turn of the Screw

The Turn of the Screw - Henry James Or the translation of my book was terrible or the writing is off. This is a short book, a bit more than 100 pages but it felt like it was 300 pages. Took me forever to finish it. It is not a horror book, but it is spooky. Mainly because the narrator is completely nuts, and the children are kinda creepy.

Thank God is over. While it is true that the end was "eh?" I was so relieved to finish it I did not mind.

ブルースカイコンプレックス2 [Blue Sky Complex 2]

ブルースカイコンプレックス2 [Blue Sky Complex 2] - Kei Ichikawa, 市川けい <3<3<3<3<3 so cuteeee. Perfect sequel, I wanted to hold both guys so much thru their pain. Awesome Ichikawa-sensei knows how to narrate a beautiful, romantic story with the perfect dose of angst. First is Terashima, the "delinquent", who is finally going out with Narasaki, but his bf doesn't want to do it with him; he is always giving excuses and that is making Terashima so miserable. Until it finally happens (it was all due to the parents who were always present). What follows is a little misunderstanding where Terashima grows apart from Narasaki because things got intense and he doesn't want to scare Narasaki off (as if) and then is Narasaki the one with the little pain (finally!) because he gets very jealous when he sees Terashima with another guy or with his ex-gf. <br/>
The sequel is much more romantic because Narasaki shows how much he likes Terashima and because of those three little words, and is also a bit hotter because they finally do it a couple of times. I loved it. <3<3<3

Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto Vol. 2

Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto Vol. 2 - Nami Sano 2.5 maybe.

The chapter with the mother of his friend... wow, creepy as hell. More horror/thriller than comedy.

Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto Vol. 1

Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto Vol. 1 - Sano Nami More like 2.5. Maybe

Read till chapter 12.

I still don't know what to make of this manga. It is funny, but like, creepily funny. It is like Sakamoto is some kind of demon, more specifically, like a mix between Sebastian and William from Kuroshitsuji. He is extremely good looking (looks very much like William) and does all these awesome things, not to show off, but because he is interested in them. Pretty much like Sebastian. Like in this chapter where he is the gofer of a bully, and not because Sakamoto feels threatened, but because he wants to improvise in all these things, like making excellent snacks, polish shoes, making clothes, etc. It is like he doesn't have any feelings; it is always from the academic/cientific point of view. I think it is the same as with his only friend.

The art is nice but it reforces my idea of making this shounen a horror manga instead of a comedy one. It is similar to GANTZ and Battle Royale. Specially when the character is crying, super macabre. I honestly wouldn't have been that surprised if one of the characters suddenly exploted in million pieces, with blood all over the place. It has that kind of art, the gore one.

So, to summarize: creepy, with a horror/gore like art. But I can't deny it made me laugh a couple of times.

Libby's London Merchant

Libby's London Merchant - Carla Kelly [a:Carla Kelly|36636|Carla Kelly|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1283446814p2/36636.jpg] knows how to write her characters. From the very beginning, I loved them. Libby is the kind of woman we find in her books: strong yet a bit vulnerable, loving and taking care of everybody; not rich but not precisely in poverty (she depends on her uncle, however). Then we have the setting, in a rural part of UK (I much prefer her romances set in UK). No balls, no kidnappings, yet a nice story that I enjoyed reading it heartily.

However, as much as I loved Benedict Nesbitt and Anthony Cook, I did not know this was a love-triangle-romance. I was tempted to DNF, to be honest. I loved both men very much, and it wasn't a wonder that Libby didn't know until pretty much the end of the book who she loved the best. Nez, a duke in disguise of a chocolate merchant, is pretty much forced to go to the country to spy on Libby, in behalf of his friend and butler. However, he suffers an accident that forces him to be taken care of by Libby and the doctor of the town, Dr. Cook. Between D. Cook and Libby, they decide, once they realize Nez is a drunkard, to cure him of his addiction.

The story of Nez was so sad. I was teary-eyed a couple of times. It was like Lord Ragsdale ([b:Reforming Lord Ragsdale|222808|Reforming Lord Ragsdale|Carla Kelly|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1326078378s/222808.jpg|215768]) and Major Beresfort ([b:Summer Campaign|2789664|Summer Campaign|Carla Kelly|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1227301212s/2789664.jpg|2815431]), both in one. He was a drunkard because of the terrible time he faced at war. I just wanted him to have someone to love him and take care of him and make him happy :(

Then we have Dr. Cook, the gentlest man around; the tallest, the biggest (he is very fat), the most patient, the clumsiest, who loved Libby so much. Nothing so much of him at first; it was more about Nez. But once we get to know him, we realize that he is a bit like Captain Summers ([b:Mrs. McVinnie's London Season|222811|Mrs. McVinnie's London Season|Carla Kelly|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1392275837s/222811.jpg|215771]). Such a good friend! So much camaraderie between him and Libby!

So you see, it was hard to root just for one, since they both are the typical Carla Kelly's heroes. As much as I liked them, I hate love triangles. I didn't want to wait until the end, so I spoiled myself: when looking at the title here in GR, you will know anyway, since this is part 1. Eventually, one of them behaves stupidly, and it was obvious who really deserved Libby. Nevertheless, I wished both men had their HEA at the end of THIS book.

Other characters: Lydia, Libby's cousin, was a goose without a conscience. I am glad to know (or to think) that in the near future she will not be as happy as Libby will be.

Libby's brother, Joseph: I am happy for him! He deserved every happiness.

Anthony's father: beastly man that redeems himself at the end with Joseph. His hatred was a bit obvious for me, but nevertheless, when Anthony tells Libby, I cried a little bit.

Recommended for fans of Carla Kelly, but for newbies, please try somewhere else first.

Gintama, tomo 1

Gintama, tomo 1 - Hideaki Sorachi, Marc Bernabé Umm... wot? For a parody manga, I did not laugh at all much. I did not care for the characters, the plot was all over the place (historical fiction but set in the future; monsters, UFOS, katanas)... the good stuff is the artwork, which reminded me a little bit of Gokusen. I've read that it is the same with the anime... the first episodes isn't much but you have to persevere to understand the hype.

セロ・メロウ [Cello Mellow]

セロ・メロウ [Cello Mellow] - Tohru Tagura, 田倉 トヲル Collection of short stories, all of them bitersweet (more bitter than sweet). Some about unrequited love, some about a boy falling for a friend, most of them in school, and a few of them in college. The good thing is that is about lots of feelings and not explicit at all, which is the way I prefer my yaoi.
