A Well-Timed Enchantment - Vivian Vande Velde, Cliff Nielsen

A YA story that feels more like a teen story. You know, without so much drama, and feelings, and all that. Besides magic, it includes time travel (yay!), a cat (yay!) whom the fairies turn into a young boy before going to Medieval time; a sort of castle, a wizard, who may or may not be evil, knights, etc.

Very light and kind of short. I do admit I thought several times that Deanna was a bit dumb, and Oliver more a burden than a help. And that you can tell that the "bad guy" from the story is not really bad around the middle of the book. And that it could have ended in a different way.
