Tokyo Ghoul

Tokyo Ghoul - Sui Ishida Good, similar to Attack on Titan in many ways. With both mangas, I was not too impressed. I know the plot is interesting, I was into it while I was reading it, it does not get boring, good enough action and gore, MC looks like a 14-year-old instead of 18, both with black hair, a blond brainy, good-heart best friend, and a black-haired, quiet, serious girl who can kick ass. Both MC have to fight against monsters, and are frustrated when they are not able to. And the art is kind of similar (this manga to AOT's anime, at least).

So while the plot is good and the art is nice, to me it is one of those mangas which is better to watch the anime than read the manga. There is a scene where Kaneki has some kind of claws (I did not understand that scene because it happens to fast and it is kind of blurry), so I guess in the anime will look better. I did not connect with any of the characters; it is not one of those mangas where I was left "oh, I love XXXX's character"
