Chicken Soup for the Horse Lover's Soul: Inspirational Stories About Horses and the People Who Love Them - Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen

Two stars mean "it was OK", which are my thoughts exactly. It was not bad... it was not great... it was fine only. And it is not that I don't like horses. I do. I like them a lot. Specially in books and films. In real life? Also, but not when I am riding one. When I was a little girl, I've ridden a couple of times. I liked it a lot. But just this year I experienced it again, and I hated it (not the horse, though).

Also, I cannot see them as "free animals". All these stories of people who say the horse thinks it owner is it best friend, or that the horse is freer than the wind.. I am not buying it. And that is because I experience almost every day the abuse these poor animals have in my country. I pity them so much it is depressing. And worst of all, there is nothing I can do. So I have this image of horses being like slaves used to be in America: abused by the man, restrained from their liberty, etc.

These stories will charm horse-lovers.But to me, they were corny and fake (not all of them. The one remembering Seabiscuit was lovely, for example).
