Perfect Chemistry - Simone Elkeles I could not get really into the story. Generally I like bad boys (most rakes than anything, in Regency/Historical books) but I could not really like Alex. He was like a cliche of the Latin boy in US: he smokes, he has tattoos, he likes getting into fights, he has that ex-girlfriend who is ho', he works as a mechanic, he is in a gang, etc. etc. People who loved Beautiful Disaster would like this too. I did not really like Beautiful Disaster, so...

When I was reading this book, I could not help thinking it was a mix between American TV show "The OC" and Mexican soup opera "Mi Primer Amor". Brittany was exactly like Marissa: blond, beautiful, popular, who seems to have a perfect life but doesn't, who has a mother who is a nightmare and a father who is a mere shadow, who has a perfect blond boyfriends since forever. And Alex is a mix between Ryan Atwood and Leon Valdomero, with the looks of Imanol (for reference, watch "Mi Primer Amor A Mil Por Hora", very recommended!). Sadly, there was not a couple in the book like Seth/Summer or Marina/Imanol :(

Also, the way Latin talked in the book I did not like at all (and I am a Latin). I mean, talking in English with random words in Spanish? It is like: "No me ha gustado mucho este book, y se le recomendaria a otra people que le gusten las stories romanticas con something de drama". ??? Nobody talks like that!... at least, that is what I think, I am not sure cause I've never lived in US among Latins...

The word "pendejo" I was sooo sure Mexicans do not use it, but I checked it and they do :S

So, if you like Mexicans soup opera, drama, violence, gangs, etc, you may like this book. Usually I like soup operas, but as in a book, MEH. Now that I have finished the book, I am begging that I will not find discussions like "Alex is so hot!". Please dear God...
